Description
Alternative, Experimental, Hungry.
Born in a disheveled Toxteth dungeon, Monster Sound Collective's mission is to promote, support and nurture musicians and artists, to help feed the Liverpool scene.
Through our unique community-based events, we aim to build a creative network, presenting a platform to showcase some of the best live music in the North West.
We have two egos. Revelry and Chaos depending on our mood;
'Revelry' focuses on lively and energetic and upbeat quality live bands and DJs to dance to.
'Chaos' focuses on Experimental/Progressive/Psychedelic/Math-Rock/Post-Rock live bands to listen to.
We welcome you to get involved, and become the Collective.

Location / Venues
No fewer than Mello Mello, Maguire's, Zanzibar, The Caledonia, The Pilgrim have been MSC’d and the crew are always on the hunt for cool, new spaces.
Band Requirements
MSC curate two types of events related to different themes, 1) Chaos (Experimental/Progressive/Psychedelic/Post-rock/Math-rock) and 2) Revelry (upbeat and lively: Ska, Electro-Swing, lively folk, electro and the dancier side of rock). At the moment MSC are looking for quality bands that fit into either of these categories.
Booking Terms
In general, MSC cover expenses, a rider and hopefully more, if the show is a success. MSC negotiate a larger fee for headline bands with a genuine fanbase. MSC give all the bands flyers to save their friends £1 on entry.
Band Benefits
Entry is as cheap as MSC can possibly afford it to be, they do book out of town bands if they are good enough. They promote their shows heavily, with big flyering and postering campaigns. They're especially looking for bands who will support what they're doing and stick around to watch the other bands on the bill, this is how bands build their fanbase’s and why MSC started the collective in the first place.
Recommendations
Sam from MSC recommended the following;
Promoters; We've always worked closely with guys like Rock Formations and Yeah Buddy! to space out our gigs around one anothers and prevent any clashes. It's a small scene for our sort of music in Liverpool, and we're lucky in that we have a lovely network to cooperate with!
Venues; Maguire's with our big fat PA has been a reliable bread and butter for some time, now. We've also put on some great nights at other venues like Bumper, the Blade Factory, and even some really small spaces like the Pilgrim. We've always struggled to find good venues in the city, particularly with more and more closing down, but thankfully there are still a small handful who are happy for us to do our thing in them!
Bands; A bunch of us who put on nights play in different bands, like Pocket Apocalypse, Triptych, and (ATLAS) and The Mighty Ibex, but it seems a bit cheeky to recommend those - they're all rubbish, anyway. We have nothing but lovely words to say about bands like Kusanagi, Alright the Captain, Falls, Delta Sleep, Hawk Eyes... the list goes on, really. We've been so fortunate to have so many wonderful bands come and play our shows!"
