What's Going On?
Whoa nelly pop! The wonderful folk at The Lyam Kirkham fund are throwing another spectacular event following their riff-rockalypse 'Keep It Heavy' last November. This time round alt-rock noise replaces stoner heaviness and the ridiculously cool Maguires Pizza Bar replaces The Kazimier. The line up this thing is extra extra special and the show has one of the best posters I have ever seen.
What's it for?
Well the man himself, Lyam Kirkham was nothing short of a hero and inspiration. It is hard to fathom just how much of a loss he is to the independent music scene. He was one of a rare breed; people in bands who go to live shows as often as possible to support their peers and pals. He was a total dude and was greatly admired by an entire music community. The bravery he shown in touring all the way to his very last days whilst battling a brain tumor is nothing short of legendary. That is the epitome of living life to its fullest.
His former Stereo Virgins family aided by a bunch of close musical pals have set up the Lyam Kirkham fund to offer invaluable support to brain tumor sufferers. The proceeds of these tubular events all are donated to the cause.
If music, charity and good people are of interest to you then there is no other place to be this Friday.
Who's On?
Big Nothing:
Scouts are dead, long live Big Nothing. These guys get about, they are doing super well for themselves. Imagine if Milhouse, Bart, Ralph & Nelson formed a band and based on a love of the fuzziest of grunge.

Simmer:
All I've been seeing recently is posters for Simmer or people talking about them. I put them on my 'to checkout' list. They're boss. Distortion soaked, shoegazey, hyper-melancholy.

Youth Motel:
As their name suggests, a very young band, only formed this year. Raucous punk energy in abundance charges this band and will do the same for you.
Yawning Dog:
Noiseyness from Yorkshire that will shake your bones up a treat.

Dancing Cake:
Cake-based musical fun from a trio of confectionery loving dudes from Leeds.

There will be awesome patches on the night as Bad Cats Club meets Radboutique to form Rad Cats Club. Designed by Daggers For Teeth (who did the insane poster). All the proceeds from patches sold go to The Lyam Kirkham Fund.
