Next Wednesday (26th November) sees the culmination of 10 years of solid gold work from one of our favourite promoters, the awesome, serene-cloud weaving Mellowtone.
To celebrate this they have put together a compilation of their favourite acts that they have worked with over their impactful decade on the Liverpool music circuit. The compilation features YB! family member Natalie McCool as well as some brilliant talents like Edgar Jones, Dead Cities and Ragz.
The Show which is start to look a bit more like a massive extravaganza (but a show it is marketed such is the humility of the lordly Mellowtone chaps) will feature an open mic session with acts such as Nick Ellis, Red Sails and Silent Sleep taking the stage. There will be all sorts of extra fun too, just see the info below.
Below is the Press Release from the mean themselves with their description of the show and release.
Mellowtone: Ten Years
As a celebration of our "Ten Years" milestone, we're releasing a compilation featuring some of Liverpool's finest songwriters and roots musicians from the last ten years – all are artists that have graced our stage at some time or other.
Our aim is to shine a light on some of the music from the life of Mellowtone - albeit the tip of a rather large iceberg. There are so many more artists we could have included, but with the limitations of space, time, and the universe, we have had to settle on just eighteen. Testament to Liverpool and its rich vein of songwriters, we really were spoiled for choice but hope the collection gives a taste of the city’s unplugged underground from 2004 to 2014...here they are:
