What are we talking about?
Well it's only the team up of the century. Yours truly, the splendid Edils and Hail Hail Records are joining forces to make a 3-man tag team the likes of which the D.I.Y and independent music circuit has never seen. Not just that, we just so happen to be bringing you 3 brilliant bands in the coolest D.I.Y venue around.
We are delighted to be teaming up with 2 awesome D.I.Y peers of ours in Edils and Hail Hail. We feel that it will be a big move forward for Yeah Buddy! in terms of continuing to becoming a significant part of independent music. Edils have brought us releases from some of our favourite artists including Death Masks, Dignan Porch, Apache Viking, Gorgeous Bully and Some Rabbits. Hail Hail also boast a heady catalogue of digital releases including LP's from Departure Kids' and Sleep/Walk as well as EP's fro Pranke and Pallow. Absolute no doubt about it, these are 2 mighty allies to have.
Who's Playing?
Well it is a triple threat of awesome buzz bands in the shape of;
Evans The Death
Heading over from London, they have been hailed by the likes of Artrocker and Rolling Stone, boasting both UK and US record labels and now strutting around the country on their UK tour, ETD really are worth getting excited about. Their 2nd LP 'Expect Delays' got a whirlwind of praise and is sporting a bodacious 81 on Metacritic...81! The friggin' Shins only have a career score of 79 and the press love those guys. You can imagine how good this album is. Seriously don't be a fool and miss this band in such an intimate space, you won't get many more chances like it.
AJHD
These guys are quickly becoming a big thing around these parts. They are a favourite of Liverpool promotion goliath Evol and they certainly hold the affections of Yeah Buddy!, Edils and Hail Hail too. They supported Gorgeous Bully at Maguires back in March, they then played Light Night at the Bombed Out Church and have a slot at Festevol at The Kazimier planned for August. I don't wanna keep banging on about it but seriously, these bands are getting big, catch them before they get any bigger, at the very least you will look cool in front of your mates.
The Year of the Fiery Horse
Yet another apple of Liverpool's eye. Recently touted by Get Into This, they've also racked up future support slots with Sweet Baboo, Colour and now Evans The Death, my my my! Not that Merseyside is the limit for the 2 excellent support slots, far from it. YOTFH have been touted on BBC 6 Music with Steve Lamacq, you can really trust that fellas taste too. Their debut E.P 'Flaneur' is an absolute charmer. Come get involved early and see what all of the fuss is about. You certainly won't regret it.
Super Bonus Round!!!
To make things even more interesting, the Yeah Buddy! Bazaar which debuted back in April will make its return selling dirt cheap CD's, DVD's, Books and Vinyl as well as a host of merchandise from independent bands from around the country.
