I love Dead Wolf Club, my old band Dirty Vagrants supported them early last year. Not only did they put on a live show that pushed the boundaries of sonic velocity but they were also jam up guys and stand up professionals. One of the nicest bands I've ever met in fact.
So it is with pleasure that we are now getting to work closely with them, promoting them on the Liverpool leg of their early 2015 tour next Feb and getting early listens to their new tracks. The perks of Yeah Buddy! get better day on day.
'Guerrero/ Metropolis' represents the consistency of form that DWC boast. Still maintaining their distinctive mannerisms; echoed vocals, reverb draped guitars and boundless formations. Giving both tracks several listens clarifies DWC's decision to release this as a Double A. They are hard to separate in terms of quality and both offer very convincing arguments as to why they should be the lead. From 'Guerrero's 'you went away/ I fall apart' chorus hook and its ever-bouldering expansive climax to 'Metropolis' infectious advance and cage busting release. Both tracks are more than worth your ears for the evening, don't hold back just call it a sexy three way, you kinky slut.
Dead Wolf Club have left me very eager to hear the rest of their third L.P and catch them live again, it's still a bit of a what yet but it will surely be worth every minute.
