The band with the best T-shirts in the business brought out their first offering way back in September last year so we are fairly late to the party on this one but we’re from Widnes and they’re from Brighton and it is only through our immense knowledge of unsigned music that we found it at all so get off our case you blood-thirsty pack of whoppers.
Anyway let’s get this done and into your heads, because that’s where it belongs, because it is bloody grand. Alocinessorc is halfway to theatrical heavy-metal with its visceral, dramatic and ever-switching riffs but it is held back just enough to fall firmly on the right side of the line. To describe this music as heavy doesn’t often tell the whole story and is pretty lazy, as a lover of my past-time I have thought of a more specific description for this song; Weightier than an Elephant orgy.
I don’t know what Alocinessorc means or if it is even a word but all I know is, Microsoft Word underlines in with a red zigzag line and Yeah Buddy! flashes up on the first page of Google when I search for it (cheers guys).
Winter Reprise does not slow the assault as Moodhoover continue the butchering riffery. A big fat bitch of a song charges relentlessly for around 2 and a half minutes until it falls into the muffled singing of a gentle voiced lady, almost as if to completely switch guards from the brutish force that preceded her.
The only offering so far from the Brighton trio leaves me with high expectations of their follow up. Checking out their Bandcamp and this Double-A credits Quincy Jones and Danny Elfman and was directed by John Favreau, well I can definitely get fully behind those claims after listening, I also sensed a hint of Steve Guttenberg’s crisp Production values, I’ll enquire if this is the case.
Moodhoover claim to be the Musical equivalent of goats cheese, well these songs were just smeared onto a tasty granary cracker and hoofed down your wonky gob you nerd, enjoy.
