We have been big fans of Secateurs for long before Yeah Buddy was Yeah Buddy, they were one of the first bands we contacted when we started the site and we have worked with them on several projects before. So it is with great excitement that I find myself with the chance to listen to ‘She Lost Her Mind’, their first single and a set favourite for this gig heavy outfit.
‘She Lost Her Mind’ is an impressive debut. It embodies everything that is good about this band, catchy hooks and vocals waltzing joyfully with the pugilistic hammering of the drums. Following a fairly simplistic narrative, fans will be yelling the tracks title ‘She Lost Her Mind’ along with the band throughout. Once ‘She Lost Her Mind’ is done you will immediately click repeat and yell along some more to this infectious number.
Secateurs have built a solid fan-base through gigging alone and those fans could not have asked for much more from their debut single. We expect that by the time their next single is released that fan-base will have grown significantly thanks to the quality of their inaugural effort.
With radio play from BBC Radio Wales and an hilarious accompanying video that is likely to tickle music fans, both familiar and unfamiliar with the band, this could be the huge step that Secateurs need to reach the platform that their quality and efforts deserve.
