Police Squad have been on the indie scene for quite some time, with their penchant for detail and intricacy garnering encouraging reviews. Y.oung D.airy F.armers quite brilliantly exemplifies this, with a short but catchy song which harks back to early Bombay Bicycle Club material. Following on from a intro that you think is about to go into indie-overdrive, the track neatly slides delicately into a reassuringly uplifting verse, before cutting into a catchy organ-synth laden chorus where we go on to learn about the demise of milkshakes and books (sad times).
Police Squad are masters of matching subtly and dynamism, which is exactly what Y.oung D.airy F.armers is all about. To say it wouldn't sound out of place on A Certain Trigger is no mean feat!
