The Hyena Kill- Scrape My Bones E.P launch
The Roadhouse, Manchester
12th October 2013
These days it is becoming increasingly difficult to drag people out of their bedrooms, let alone their houses. The Hyena Kill don't own guns, they don't use scare tactics, they don't even pay people off, they just have something special that makes people want to get out and see their show. They drew me in and I am delighted they did.
This show really felt like something special, a community of people whose one goal, that everyone pulls toward, is rocking out with the band. Rare is it to see such verve and enthusiasm shown by a crowd toward a band who have not been shoved down their throats. The Hyena Kill to not disappoint, in fact, they excel. Every song stands on its own but each bears the distinctive Hyena brand on its grizzled hide.
A brilliant set from the band ends in a deserved chorus of 'encore, encore, encore' from the baying audience. Noise, sweat, noise, sweat, noise was the routine and it was executed to perfection.
